About the design

Design project – shipyard TBD, build TBC

Bullet 200 is a 61 m (200 ft) new-build superyacht project by Arch. Franco Gnessi of Dynaship Yacht Design (DYD). The design started from one idea: to make the observer lose the sense of the yacht's size. Clean lines and well-placed curves, borrowed from automotive design, hide 975 GT of interior volume behind a low, sleek profile.

Design and hull

A classic displacement hull is paired with a bold, streamlined superstructure. Steel hull, aluminum superstructure. Decks are recessed and set deep behind high bulwarks, so the owner and guests stay out of sight on board.

Propulsion

Designer's figures: two azipods with brushless electric motors (1,940 kW), a 22-knot cruising speed and 26 knots maximum, and a range of 3,000 nm at an economic 14 knots. A battery storage system allows around 90 minutes of zero-emission electric running at 8 knots.

Life aboard

  • 12 guests in 5 cabins: an owner's suite and four guest suites
  • 14 crew
  • Guest suites with interior architecture rotated by 45°
  • Owner's suite forward with lounge, office and vanity areas, double bathroom and double walk-in closet
  • Main deck lounge and gym, with a central atrium and staircase
  • Recessed foredeck sunbathing area with a large Jacuzzi and lounge/dining area
  • Main deck pool, sundeck Jacuzzi and aft beach club
  • Large lounge and dining areas aft on the main and upper decks

Project status

Bullet 200 is a design project: shipyard to be determined and build to be confirmed. Interior theme, entertainment, wellness and water-toy spaces can be developed around the owner's brief. Ask us for the full brochure, general arrangement and an indicative build budget.

New construction

Building a yacht of this class

A custom yacht of this size typically takes three to four years from concept to delivery, in six phases. The figures above are for this project; the phases and payment schedule are typical for the class.

Estimated build budget€60M – €85M
Contract to delivery36–48 months
Typical annual running cost€5M – €8M per year
01 Concept confirmation & feasibility3–6 monthsDesign fees; slot deposit may apply

Confirm the general arrangement, prepare a preliminary specification and collect budget estimates from shortlisted shipyards, then discuss build slots. Italian yards with this capability include Tankoa, ISA, CRN and Palumbo.

02 Contract & technical lock4–6 months10–20% deposit

Sign a MYBA-style or shipyard build contract, finalise the detailed specification (often 200–400 pages) and choose classification society and flag, for example RINA or Lloyd's Register, Cayman or Malta. Structural changes become expensive after this point.

03 Engineering & production design6–9 months≈5–8% of contract

Structural calculations, hull optimisation, electrical and hybrid integration, HVAC, AV/IT and stabilisers, and class approval of the drawings.

04 Hull & superstructure12–16 months≈35–40% of contract

Steel cutting, keel laying, construction of the hull and superstructure and installation of the engine room, with tank testing and quarterly inspections by the owner's representative.

05 Interior fit-out & systems10–14 months, overlapping≈30–35% of contract

Owner's suite, guest and crew areas, pools, AV/IT, joinery and stone. The interior specification is the biggest single factor in where the final budget lands.

06 Commissioning & sea trials3–6 monthsFinal ≈10%

Harbour tests, sea trials, noise and vibration checks, class and flag certification, crew training and delivery.

Typical payment schedule (Italian yard)

  • Contract signing 10%
  • Steel cutting 10%
  • Keel laying 10%
  • Hull completion 20%
  • Superstructure 20%
  • Launch 20%
  • Delivery 10%

What moves the budget

  • Expanded hybrid battery capacity
  • Custom glazing
  • Custom marble and stone
  • Beach club redesign
  • Helipad certification
  • Tender garage engineering
  • Structural changes requested by the owner

Indicative planning figures for a custom yacht of roughly 50–70 m built at an Italian shipyard. Actual budget, schedule and payment terms depend on the shipyard, specification and contract. This is not an offer or a quote.
